Permit Parking Guide
Permits are not valid for on-street parking or at the North Main St. Lot or Pier Lot.
Overnight parking permit holders must park in specified areas during plowing season; please see maps
All permits are digital & license plate based. The city parking enforcement officer checks license plate numbers in their handheld device and is able to view active permits. Permits are purchased online at https://marquettepermits.rmcpay.com/ or by clicking the button below.
Individual Monthly Permit $30/month
Permit valid between 6am and 6pm in Baraga Lot, Bluff Street Ramp (Upper Level), Lower Commons Lot, Lakeshore Lot, Rock Street Lot, Spring Street Lot, and South Main Street Lot. Not valid at North Main St. Lot or Pier Lot. These permits are typically for Commuters who work downtown.
24 Hour Monthly Lot Permit $40/month
Permit valid between 6am and 6pm in any public rental lot and overnight in chosen designated lot (lots available are Lower Commons, South Main St. Lot, Spring St. Lot, Rock St. Lot, Baraga Lot, and Upper Level of Bluff St. Ramp). Not valid at North Main St. Lot or Pier Lot. These permits are typically for residents who live in the downtown area and need parking available at any/all hours.
Bluff St. Ramp Reserved $70/month
Assigned parking spot located along the back wall or middle row of the lower level of the Bluff Street Parking Ramp. These permits are typically for residents, commuters, or business owners who desire a designated parking spot.
Bluff St. Ramp Monthly Overnight Only $40/month
Permit valid in the LOWER level of the Bluff St. Ramp from 6 pm to 9 am ONLY. Vehicle must be moved by 9 a.m. or pay for parking at the pay station. These permits are typically for downtown residents who do not have off street parking overnight, especially during the winter parking ban.
Daily Permit
$5/day
Permit parking between 6am and 6pm in Baraga Lot, Bluff Street Ramp (Upper Level), Lower Commons Lot, Lakeshore Lot, Rock Street Lot, Spring Street Lot, and South Main Street Lot (Lots marked with an R on map below). Not valid at North Main St. Lot or Pier Lot. These permits are typically for residents or visitors planning to be in town for a weekday.
Guest Overnight Permit
$10/overnight
Permit parking at the UPPER LEVEL of the Bluff Ramp between 6 a.m. date of purchase until 6 p.m. the following day. Only valid at Upper Bluff Ramp. These permits are typically for visitors planning to be in town overnight.
Fun Fact - All parking income gets plowed back (apologies for the pun) into the cost of snow removal and upkeep of the parking lots and sidewalks. Our amazing maintenance staff keeps 6.5 miles of sidewalk and multiple parking lots cleared of snow all winter for downtown businesses, residents and visitors! It also pays for the elevators, striping and lighting of downtown lots.
