Parking FAQs
When is parking free?
Parking lot parking is free in the evenings (6 p.m. - 1 a.m.) and on weekends in all parking lots except the Lower Bluff Ramp (must pay hourly at all times). Overnight parking in DDA parking lots is not free and requires a permit.
On-street parking is free after 6 p.m. and is free on weekends. Please note, there is an on-street winter parking ban in effect Nov 1 - March 31 between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m.
I received a parking ticket I do not feel is fair. How can I contest it?
Parking infarctions are issued and enforced by the City of Marquette Police Department. Follow the instructions on your ticket for contacting them.
You can find more information at Parking-City of Marquette (marquettemi.gov)
If you have an active parking permit and need confirmation of this to present to the police, please email the DDA with a copy of the citation so we can establish how the error occurred.
There is a problem with a pay station. What should I do?
If you are able, you should pay at another nearby pay station or pay using the Passport App.
Pay station problems can be reported to the Marquette Downtown Development Authority at 906-228-9475. Please note that enforcement has no way of knowing if the pay station was having problems when you parked, unless you report it at the time of parking. Please report the location of the pay station when calling.
How do I get a refund for a permit?
If you cancel a permit partway through a billing cycle, please contact the Marquette Downtown Development Authority at 906-228-9475 for a manual refund to your credit card.
I’ve set up a pin for my permit but where do I log on?
