Thrivent Member Network – Northbound Group to Host Thrivent Cans Hunger Event

Marquette, MI – The Thrivent Member Network and Northbound Group is partnering with Salvation Army, Marquette to organize a summer generosity event called Thrivent Cans Hunger.  During this one-day event, the Thrivent Member Network and Northbound Group will donate $3 for every non-perishable food item donated up to $3,000.

Join us on August 4, 2021, from 11 am-4 pm, at The Northbound Group-Thrivent - 100 N Third St. Marquette, to help Salvation Army stock their shelves and meet our Thrivent Can’s Hunger goal. Every person who donates can receive a Digs Dog from Digs City Beach, right behind Thrivent.

According to Captain Winters, Salvation Army:” Food insecurity is a very real situation. Many in our community have had a very tough year, especially with the pandemic. Stimulus funds have been helpful but are not sustainable in the long run. Many of those in need are children and young adults. We need to continue to work to support those in need in our community through generous donations to our local food pantries. We at The Salvation Army are very grateful to our community partners for holding can drives and to the people of Marquette County for your generous support of our mission to help the neediest people in the county. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your donations and support.”

The Thrivent Member Network and Northbound Group helps support and inspire Thrivent clients with membership in their generosity efforts, providing them with the tools and resources to take action – and create impact. As part of this network, clients can join their friends and family, and the local community to participate in Thrivent’s generosity programs and regional initiatives and projects to make a positive difference locally.
