Marquette Downtown Development Authority Job Description
Position: Operations and Parking Manager
Job Summary: This full-time position is responsible for management of the downtown parking system, bookkeeping services, and office administration for the Marquette Downtown Development Authority (MDDA).
Supervision: Primary direction and supervision received from the MDDA Executive Director.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Administers the downtown parking system including management of software systems, billing, digital permitting and mobile pay applications, coordination of parking meter and pay station issues, and assisting customers with parking related customer inquiries
Participates in development and implementation of parking strategies
Works closely with City of Marquette Police Department and Parking Enforcement Officer to facilitate effective communication and smooth parking operations
Maintains parking website and disseminates information about the parking system and Downtown Marquette in a positive, affirmative manner
Coordinates parking committee meetings and serves as staff liaison for the parking committee of the MDDA Board of Directors
Manages accounts receivable and payable
Prepares financial reports, bank reconciliations, and assists with annual audit process
Processes Farmers Market reimbursements
Manages daily operations of MDDA office
Maintains office supplies inventory and coordinates maintenance of office machines
Provides filing and recordkeeping services
Assists the Executive Director in preparation for MDDA Board of Director meetings and other meetings as requested
Assists the Executive Director with grant writing and administration
Assists with the coordination and staffing of special events sponsored by the MDDA and other events as requested
Performs related functions as assigned
Qualifications:

Required education and training includes a college degree
A minimum of two years office administration and bookkeeping experience
Experience with Quickbooks and an understanding of basic accounting and/or bookkeeping principles
Understanding of a downtown environment preferred
Experience with parking systems preferred
Knowledge of modern office procedures, practices, and equipment, filing and record-keeping systems and common clerical procedures
Knowledge of computer operations, word processing, spreadsheets, desktop publishing, Internet, and email
Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
Proficiency in spelling, grammar, and letter composition
Human relations and customer service skills in interacting with the public
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, business owners, property owners, and the general public
Ability to work in a busy, high-energy environment
Experience in successfully meeting deadlines
Demonstrated ability to independently organize and prioritize work assignments
Demonstrated ability to work with accuracy and attention to detail
Materials and Equipment Used:
Various computer software including Quickbooks, Microsoft Power Point, Publisher, and Excel, Internet, email, website, and parking management software
Computers, printer, telephone, fax machine, 10-digit calculator, credit card machine
Physical Demands:
Work is performed mostly in an office setting
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work in outside weather conditions. The employee may be exposed to cold, wet and/or humid conditions, or airborne particles
