Due to the current COVID-19 statewide stay at home mandate, we are temporarily suspending in-person MDDA Connect Meetings. These meetings will resume when those restrictions have been lifted.
MDDA Connect meetings are on Third Tuesday of every month to provide an opportunity for business owners and employees to discuss strategies and common issues, to plan and review downtown activities, and to stay informed on happenings within the district. The meetings are held at 8:00 a.m. and the locations change to different Downtown Marquette businesses each month. All are invited to attend.
MDDA Connect minutes and locations can be reviewed at https://downtownmarquette.org/https://downtownmarquette.org/downtown-promotions-meetings/

Mining Journal Downtown Supplement
What’s happening within your business or organization? We’d love to hear about and share it in the summer or winter issue of the semi-annual Mining Journal supplement. Inclusion in the newsletter is available to all retail, restaurants, non-profits, and professional businesses located within the Downtown District. When composing your article, consider such newsworthy items as:
- Have you recently opened or moved your business?
- Have you undertaken a renovation and/or made improvements?
- Do you have a special activity or event you’d like to promote to the community?
- Have you or your employees recently received any awards or certifications?
- Are you open late or have you expanded your hours for the summer?
- Do you feature a new unique product or service?
- Do you have any other news you’d like to share?
If so, please let us know! Simply share your news with us in an article (300 words or less, please) and e-mail it to Tara@downtownmarquette.org. You may also submit a captioned photo.
The supplement is circulated to all Mining Journal customers, with additional copies distributed to surrounding areas and high-traffic locations. If you have any questions, call the Downtown Development Authority office at 228-9475 or e-mail Tara@downtownmarquette.org.
Downtown Business Hospitality Packets
Welcome visitors and locals alike to the warm and inviting atmosphere of Downtown Marquette. At the beginning of each year, the Marquette Downtown Development Authority distributes “welcome” signs inviting conference, festival and event goers to experience all that the district has to offer. Businesses are asked to proudly post the signs in their front windows or doors.
In addition to distributing physical packets, a digital file and reminder of posting dates will be emailed to each business contact the week of the desired posting. Have a lot of windows? Additional signs can be picked up from the DDA Office (337 W. Washington St.).
