This daytime program is perfect for home school families. Teaching young people to plan for their future and to learn about philanthropy is how we ensure our legacy as a community. This program helps parents learn how to talk to their kids about influences and choices about money, as well as responsible money habits. Presented by Thrivent Financial. “Piggy Bank” program for ages 6-11 at 10:00 a.m., and “Cash Cache” for ages 11-16 at 11:00 a.m. Parents, Kids and Money Matters is a 50-minute workshop designed for parents and their children ages 6 to 10. It helps parents reflect on the values they want their kids to learn, teach their kids about money, and use practical tools to make teaching about money fun. It can help participants increase their understanding of stewardship, make intentional choices about sharing, saving and spending, and to talk about money and values in their family.
To participate there is a suggested donation of $2/student, $5/adult, which includes a visit to the museum galleries. Call the History Center to sign up ahead of time.
