The Downtown Showdown Rail Jam will not take place for 2018. We appreciate all of the participants, spectators, sponsors and business owners who helped to make this event so great in past years.

In February the streets of Downtown Marquette become covered with snow for the Downtown Showdown Ski & Snowboard Rail Jam. The 100 block of North Front Street serves as the location for the event. Fans and competitors will be gathered steps away from Lake Superior, bringing the excitement of the ski hill to the historic streets of Marquette.
Competition & Prizes
Open Ski/Snowboard: $20 per rider in advance; $25 per rider day-of
Competitive Ski (Men/Women): $40 per rider in advance; $50 per rider day-of (includes participation in Open Jam)
Competitive Snowboard (Men/Women): $40 per rider in advance; $50 per rider day-of (includes participation in Open Jam)
Please note: entries are non-transferable and non-refundable.
The first 50 registrants will receive an official Downtown Showdown tee at registration. Cash prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place in the competitive men’s ski and snowboard jams, and awarded for first and second place in the competitive women’s ski and snowboard jams. Additional prizes will be drawn throughout the event.
Registration and payment can be taken online until Thursday, February 2 at 11:59 p.m. To register by phone, contact the Marquette Downtown Development Authority at (906) 228-9475. Note: All riders must sign a waiver at event check-in. Riders under the age of 18 must have a legal parent or guardian present at check-in to sign the waiver or submit the waiver to the Marquette Downtown Development Authority in advance or they will not be able to participate. All participants MUST wear a winter sports approved helmet in order to participate in the Downtown Showdown Rail Jam and Open Jam. Those found to be participating without a helmet will automatically forfeit their entry in the competition and be asked to leave. There will be no refunds given.

2:00 p.m.: Day-of registration opens (closes at 5:30 p.m.)
3:00 p.m.: Start of Open Jam
6:00 p.m.: Ski Rail Jam starts
7:00 p.m.: Snowboard Rail Jam starts
8:00 p.m.: Finals, followed by awards
There will be a gear check area available. Please bring a bag to keep your gear contained, and make sure any items you leave are clearly labeled with a name and phone number. We cannot be held responsible for lost or stolen items.
Event admittance is free and open to the public. Spectators will be able to view the event from a variety of locations. Both sides of North Front Street’s sidewalks will be open for spectating, as well as a viewing area associated with the Warm Up Tent. Spectators are welcome to take photos and videos of the event, and can be shared via social media using the hashtag #downtownshowdown.
Local vendors will be serving warm food throughout the event, as well as hot and cold beverages. The Warm Up tent is for all ages and will also be serving alcoholic beverages for those 21+. Restrooms will be located throughout the event area.
