The 2018 season of the Downtown Marquette Farmers Market begins Saturday, May 26, at the Marquette Commons, 112 South Third Street, Marquette, and will run every Saturday through December 15. Open from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., the market will feature over 85 different vendors throughout the season selling locally grown food and handmade artisan goods. Live music will be provided weekly from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., with special programming and food demonstrations scheduled throughout the season. New this season is the Power of Produce program, which will operate during the market from August 4-September 22. Funding for POP is provided by Upper Peninsula Health Plan, Ishpeming Lions Club, and Negaunee Lions Club. The Downtown Marquette Farmers Market accepts cash, credit/debit cards, SNAP benefits, Senior Market FRESH and WIC Project FRESH. Double Up Food Bucks and Hoophouses for Health vouchers are distributed to qualifying customers.
