DDA Introduces Downtown Facade Improvement Grant Program

Posted on May 1, 2018

The Marquette Downtown Development Authority is pleased to introduce the Downtown Façade Improvement Grant Program. The program is designed to provide financial support for property and business owners within the downtown district seeking to upgrade their storefront exterior facades. The project(s) will not only improve an individual building’s appearance but also facilitate continued revitalization of the downtown district as a whole.

The Downtown Façade Improvement Grant offers a 1:2 match, with a maximum reimbursement of $5,000 and a minimum total project cost of $3,000. To qualify for the program, projects must constitute permanent, physical improvements to a building’s exterior, meet all building and zoning requirements, fit into the larger context of neighboring buildings, and receive approval by the DDA Board of Directors. Funding for the program will be allocated annually, with grants awarded on a competitive, first-come, first-served basis.
